Generally, when we choose refractory brick products, we need to look at the refractory degree. There are three levels of refractory products. According to the shape used, there are standard bricks special-shaped bricks, special-shaped bricks, large-shaped bricks and crucibles, utensils and other special products. According to chemical properties, it can be divided into acid, neutral and alkaline refractory products. According to the density, it is divided into heavy refractory and light refractory.

Properties of refractory materials

During the use of refractory materials, they are subject to physical, chemical, and mechanical effects at high temperatures. They are easily melted and softened, or are abraded by erosion, or cracked and damaged. This interrupts operations and contaminates materials. When purchasing or knowing a refractory product, you must know the following properties.

(1) High fire resistance

In order to meet the requirements of high-temperature operation, the refractory material should have the properties of not softening and melting at a sufficiently high temperature.

(2) Good softening temperature under load

The refractory material can withstand the load of the kiln and the stress applied during the operation and softening deformation and collapse without losing the structural strength at high temperature.

(3) Volume stability at high temperature

When refractory materials are used under high-temperature conditions, the volume will change due to the physical and chemical reactions inside the material. It is required that the refractory material be stable in volume at high temperature so that the kiln masonry will not collapse due to the expansion of the product due to excessive expansion or contraction or cracks due to excessive shrinkage will reduce the service life of the masonry.

(4) Good thermal shock stability

The refractory is very affected by the operating conditions of the kiln. When the temperature changes sharply or the masonry is heated unevenly in various parts, stress will be generated inside the brick masonry, which will cause the refractory to crack and peel, causing damage to the furnace. Therefore, it is required that the refractory has certain thermal shock stability.

(5) Good corrosion resistance

Refractory bricks for sale on market are often subject to chemical action by liquid solutions, furnace dust, gaseous media or solid substances during use, causing the products to be damaged by erosion. Therefore, refractory materials must have a strong resistance to such erosion damage. In addition, refractory materials are required to have certain abrasion resistance, and under certain special conditions, there must be certain air permeability, thermal conductivity, electrical conductivity and hardness, etc. At the same time, the shape and size are required to be accurate.

Based on these properties, the use of refractory materials at high temperatures can be predicted. Others are properties measured at high temperatures, such as fire resistance, load soft point, thermal shock stability, slag resistance, and temperature and volume stability. These properties reflect the state of the refractory at a certain temperature or reflect Its relationship to external effects at this temperature. The quality of refractories depends on nature. It is a standard for evaluating the quality of products. The correct and reasonable selection of refractory bricks manufacturers is vital. In production, it is the basis for formulating and improving the production process and checking whether the production process is correct and stable.
